Real Life At Its Best

The best things in life come from overcoming. Sure, that is a seemingly stock statement, but it will make more sense as I go on with this article. The strength of anyone, comes from any resistance they have in achieving their goals and overcoming resistance. I know, resistance is not liked or even wanted. But it is something that makes us stronger and more achievement worthy. Without
anything interesting going on, there would be nothing worthy to do in existence. Overcoming and achievement is the whole purpose of life, otherwise there would only be two places to move: Sideways or down. Most likely, down, because minds die and psyche death happens when there is nothing to achieve.

Let me explain what inspired this article: Last night, I was watching an old "Star Trek" episode where Captain Kirk, Lieutenant Uhura and Pavel Chekhov went to a planet in a far off solar system called Triskelion, where they were slaves who fought in gladiator games for boring but advanced beings that advanced so much that they seemingly had nothing to do but wager imaginary money on the gladiator games and who would win or who would lose and die at them. Ironically, the most exciting wager was the wager of Captain Kirk to free everyone on the planet from the gladiator games, so everyone (including the disembodied beings) could live, grow and really win great lives instead of pretending in a pathetic way to live. When there is nothing to achieve, including in an intelligent, but neurotic way nothing interesting, people are like those beings on Triskelion, slowly dying from boredom. But, then there is something to strive for, and be alive about, there is life and existence.

In short, a life without something to achieve genuinely is not a life at all to paraphrase Ralph Waldo Emerson and Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens.

Do you notice that the most thrilling achievements in life are not really too predictable, require creativity, and are challenging and exciting. Real and genuine life at its best is scripted, but it gets better than the script written. The greatest moments in life and existence are when we purposely and consciously rise above ourselves in a "beyond the scripted plan" fashion that transcends it all in an exciting an awakening way that advances everything. Sometimes I wonder about that, if President Obama did not have his John Boehner as an opposition or more controversial, if the Pharisees and leaders of the ancient empires did not have upstart Jesus to contend with, what would have happened? I ask that rhetorically and I will give the answer: No growth. Growth is sometimes comfortable and we are ready for it and sometimes it is uncomfortable and we are not ready for it. But, if we want to get anywhere it is always needed and the results are ultimately wanted. Growth and living is real life at its best. Without it, we are nowhere. With it, we are now here. Get it?
